Youths have been described as “great thinkers, innovators and drivers of change,” whose crucial roles in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) cannot be ignored.
The Director, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Lagos, Mr. Oluseyi Soremekun, represented the National Information Officer, Mr. Ronald Kayanja, said this at a workshop on ‘Nigerian Youth SDGs Pre-Summit: Inspiring youth engagement, promoting youth participation,’ held in Lagos recently.
Soremekun, who enjoined the youth to pull together their creative energies and harness opportunities offered by the SDGs as an extension of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), said: “Youth must play an active role in the implementation and reporting of the SDGs.
